During my first solo trip to Goa, I booked an AC dorm at 12 Monks, and it turned out to be a smart choice, especially for those weighing luxury against value. Nestled right on the beach, the location is unmatched—nothing beats waking up to the sound of waves. the outdoor lounge area, with its garden furniture, provides a perfect spot to unwind and meet fellow travelers or even catch some work in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff, including Ayush and Sachin, are genuinely welcoming, which adds to the hostel's charm. They offer helpful services like laundry and tours/ticket assistance, making your stay more convenient and enjoyable. You also have the option to enjoy some live entertainment, creating a lively vibe. While 12 Monks may not have the lavish offerings of a five-star resort, it delivers on essentials—air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and pet-friendly amenities make it a value-driven choice. For those looking for authentic experiences without breaking the bank, this hostel comes highly recommended. It’s an excellent option for both solo travelers and groups.
